BABY WING (children 3 months to 2 years)

The baby wing consists of two rooms with areas for messy play and carpeted areas for crawling around. The Baby Wing is  self-contained so the staff are always with the children.

We follow the government framework of "Birth to Three Matters". The principles which underpin the framework are as follows

bullet

Parents and Families are central to the well-being of the child

bullet

Relationships with other people (both adults and children) are of crucial importance in a child's life

bullet

A relationship with a key person at home and in the setting is essential to young children's well-being

bullet

Babies and young children are social beings, they are competent learners from birth.

bullet

Learning is a shared process and children learn most effectively when, with the support of a knowledgeable and trusted adult, they are actively involved and interested.

bullet

caring adults count more than resource's and equipment

bullet

Schedules and routines must flow with the child's needs.

bullet

Children learn when they are given appropriate responsibility, allowed to make errors, decision's and choices, and respected as autonomous and competent learners.

bullet

Children learn by DOING rather than by being told.

bullet

Young children are vulnerable. They learn to be independent by having someone they can depend upon

When your child attends the baby wing please will you bring nappies, baby wipes and spare clothes (all clearly labeled with the child's name on). If your child is still bottle fed, please bring all the feeds needed for the day and again clearly labeled. Initials on the bottom of the bottle will do.

At Toddle-Inn each area is carefully structured so that the care and support is appropriate to the developmental stages and priorities of your child, not necessarily on the age your child has reached. During their time at Toddle-Inn each child will progress through the areas of learning at their own pace.

Our environment is bright and inviting with lots of stimulating activities going on to make it exciting and happy atmosphere, which encourages the children to participate and try new experiences. All the activities feed your child's imagination and helps them to grow and think independently.
